Attorney Accuses Kanye West Of Failing To Pay Him

(IntegrityPress.org) – A lawyer hired by Kanye West is now suing the rapper and designer for refusing to pay for his services and cutting off all communication with him.

Brian Brumfield filed the lawsuit against West on Wednesday, July 3, requesting to be relieved of representing the rapper in a suit filed against West by an autograph dealer who alleges West assaulted him.

In Brumfield’s filing, he claims the controversial artist abruptly broke ties with him on Friday, June 21, and ceased all communication. West refuses to speak with Brumfield and “refuses to pay” him as well. Brumfield is scheduled to appear for a hearing on his motion on Monday, July 29.

The suit against West that Brumfield was hired to defend him against was filed on Jan. 10 by an autograph dealer, Justin Poplawski, and Tiffany Marshall, his spouse. The lawsuit accuses the rapper of assault and battery, loss of consortium, and intentionally inflicting emotional distress and negligence.

Poplawski, who says he approached West for an autograph in the past, went up to the rapper in Los Angeles outside of the Soho Warehouse to ask for another autograph when West allegedly struck the defendant. When he asked West to apologize, the artist allegedly said, “For what?” and then struck him again several more times, resulting in injury. Poplawski also argues that the rapper’s aggression was most likely a result of the ongoing divorce with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

On July 1, another suit was filed by a former staffer, named West, who claims that the rapper’s current wife sent sexual content to the staff member that was accessed by minors. Milo Yiannopoulos, who worked as West’s chief of staff, addressed the allegations on behalf of West’s wife, Bianco Censori, as “offensive, disgusting, abhorrent,” and “wholly false.”

The rapper has a long history of controversial public stunts and remarks, particularly over the last few years about the Jewish community, leading to accusations of antisemitism.
