Obama Praises Biden’s Decision To Quit Campaign

(IntegrityPress.org) -Former President Barack Obama hailed President Joe Biden after the latter published a letter announcing his departure from the 2024 presidential contest. Obama showered Biden with praise in a lengthy diatribe, calling Biden a very “consequential” president and his “dear friend.” He additionally lathered on the praise by suggesting Biden’s exit, which revealed his patriotism, which he qualified as “of the highest order.”

Obama also highlighted Biden’s tendency to refuse to back down from a fight, suggesting that passing the torch was one of the “toughest” decisions Biden has made in his entire life. He also said that he believed Biden was making the tough call because it was “right for America.”

It couldn’t be more obvious that Obama was as pleased as a punch. Biden announced his decision by publishing a typed letter bearing his signature on Sunday, July 21.

The announcement followed a wild week after an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump resulted in him being shot in his ear on July 13. Three attendees to the rally were struck in addition to Trump, with one of them dying as a result.

Then Biden announced his departure from the race, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the presumptive nominee to face off against Trump. Both Bill and Hillary Clinton similarly endorsed Harris. However, observers noted that despite the length of Obama’s statement, there wasn’t an endorsement for Harris.

Obama instead indicated the anticipated emergence of an “outstanding nominee” who can carry Biden’s “generous, prosperous, and united America” into the future. He’s yet to indicate who he endorses for that role.

Echoing those sentiments, Democratic National Convention chairman Jamie Harrison published a statement saying that there will be “a transparent and orderly” procedure to unite the party behind an effective candidate who will oppose Trump in the general election. Harrison highlighted “rules and procedures” established to facilitate the process without elaborating.
