Biden’s Border Crisis: A Gateway for Terrorists
The U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security has released a damning “Terror Threat Snapshot” that exposes the Biden administration’s catastrophic failure to protect American citizens. Since fiscal year 2021, a shocking 382 individuals on the terrorist watchlist have been apprehended at our Southwest border. Even more alarming, an estimated two million individuals have completely evaded apprehension, raising serious concerns about potential terrorist infiltration.

FBI Director Christopher Wray’s testimony before Congress paints a grim picture of the current threat landscape. Wray stated that he sees “blinking lights everywhere I turn,” describing the situation as “a whole ‘nother level” of danger. This unprecedented level of simultaneous threats is straining our Joint Terrorism Task Forces to their breaking point.
A Pattern of Failure: From Afghanistan to Hamas
The Biden administration’s incompetence extends far beyond our borders. The chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan and the recent Hamas attacks on Israel have created a perfect storm of global instability. These policy failures have emboldened state sponsors of terrorism, particularly Iran, and reinvigorated terrorist networks worldwide.
“From the Biden-Harris administration’s chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal and the spillover effects of the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks against our ally Israel to the vulnerabilities caused by our wide-open borders, the United States is facing a dynamic and worsening terror threat landscape,” – Committee Chairman Mark Green, R-Tenn.
The report highlights over 50 extremism cases across 29 U.S. states since April 2021, involving Department of Justice convictions for material support to terrorist organizations. These cases include individuals providing support to ISIS, attempting terrorist acts, and receiving military training from known terrorist groups. The Biden administration’s weak leadership and misguided policies have clearly contributed to this surge in domestic terror threats.
DHS: Asleep at the Wheel
While the threat level continues to rise, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appears to be woefully unprepared. The House Committee’s report sharply criticizes DHS for glaring deficiencies in border security and screening practices. These failures potentially allow high-risk noncitizens to enter the United States without proper identification or vetting.
“The Department of Homeland Security’s mission is to protect the American people from every threat at our doorstep. The system is blinking red yet again, as even the head of the FBI has noted. Despite heightened threats from terrorists, the Biden-Harris administration continues to demonstrate weak leadership on the world stage and fails to admit its policy failures that brought us here. We must change course and take the necessary actions to protect the homeland.” – Chairman Mark E. Green, MD (R-TN)
Instead of addressing these critical security gaps, DHS seems more concerned with pushing a politically correct agenda. They’ve designated domestic violent extremism as a “National Priority Area” and are providing grants for nebulous “security enhancements.” Meanwhile, our borders remain porous, and known terrorists continue to slip through the cracks.
A Call to Action
The time for half-measures and political posturing is over. The American people deserve a government that prioritizes their safety above all else. We must demand immediate action to secure our borders, properly vet all individuals entering our country, and provide our law enforcement agencies with the resources they need to combat this growing terrorist threat.
As we approach the 2024 election cycle, it’s crucial that voters remember the Biden administration’s repeated failures to protect our nation. Only by electing leaders who understand the gravity of these threats and are willing to take decisive action can we hope to reverse this dangerous course and ensure the safety of all Americans.
