(IntegrityPress.org) – In November of 2023, Sean John Combs, widely recognized as “Diddy,” was accused of abuse by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Ventura filed a lawsuit alleging that Combs sexually assaulted and beat her for the duration of their relationship from 2007 to 2018.
At the same time, several other women also filed lawsuits accusing Combs of sexual assault. In December of last year, Combs called the allegations against him “awful.” Combs lambasted the media suggesting the story was being exaggerated.
Ventura met Combs in 2009 when she signed to his record label at age 19. She was 21 years old by the time they started dating. Combs was 38 at the time. Combs’ legal team settled the lawsuit immediately after it was filed.
Cassie Ventura’s lawsuit claimed that Combs paid a hotel $50,000 to give him security camera footage. Just this month, that video footage from 2016 showing Combs assaulting Ventura was released, depicting him kicking and dragging her. On Instagram, Combs admitted the footage was authentic, apologized for his actions, and mentioned receiving professional help, but without asking for forgiveness.
When the video of the assault went public this month, Cassie Ventura’s husband released a statement condemning men who beat women. He expressed sympathy for survivors and said that men who beat women “aren’t men.” Combs cannot be prosecuted for the assault and beating of Cassie Ventura because the abuse has passed the statute of limitations.
Law enforcement is clearly interested in Combs’ activities. A March raid of Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles grabbed headlines and sparked intense speculation about what law enforcement may have been seeking. The search was part of an ongoing federal investigation into human trafficking spearheaded by Homeland Security Investigations. Authorities have not disclosed any suspects or clarified if the investigation is connected to the ongoing lawsuits against Combs.
Legal troubles keep mounting for Combs. This year a record producer also filed a lawsuit alleging that Combs forced him to hire and sleep with prostitutes so that Combs could take footage to later blackmail or manipulate him with. Another woman came forward and claimed that Combs sexually assaulted her when she was underage.
