Trump’s Comments On Biden’s Drug Use Spark Controversy

(IntegrityPress.org) – In a campaign stop last Friday, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump claimed that President Joe Biden was not physically capable of facing off against him in the upcoming CNN debate and suggested that CNN should require drug testing before the two square off to ensure that the president wasn’t medicated.

While giving remarks at the Minnesota Republican Party’s Lincoln Reagan Dinner last Friday, Trump also blasted CNN host Jake Tapper, one of the moderators for the June 27 debate, calling him “Fake Tapper.”

Trump suggested that President Biden would be “so jacked up” on medication to make him lucid during the debates and suggested that his campaign might “demand a drug test” before the two take to the stage on June 27.

That wasn’t the first Trump suggested that President Biden should be given a drug test.

Before the first presidential debate in 2020, Trump said he would be willing to take a drug test before facing off against Biden and suggested that the Democrat nominee should take one as well.

Last Saturday while addressing the NRA’s Annual Meetings and Exhibits, Trump once again suggested that Biden was medicated during his public appearances when he claimed that the president had been “high as a kite” during his State of the Union address in March.

He made a similar comment during a recent interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, saying that as he watched the State of the Union address, he noticed that Biden started the speech “all jacked up” but was “fading fast” by the time he got to the end.

Last week, the Biden campaign sent a letter to the Commission on Presidential Debates saying it would not participate in its three scheduled debates starting in September. Instead, the campaign said it would only accept direct invitations from media outlets.

The campaign later announced that it accepted invitations from CNN and ABC News to appear in debates hosted by the networks.

The Trump campaign quickly followed suit.
