Fox Legal Analyst Takes Aim at Alvin Bragg

(IntegrityPress.org) – Fox News legal commentator Greg Jarrett reiterated that Donald Trump committed no crime when he paid Stormy Daniels for a non-disclosure agreement. He suggested that New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg is seeking a conviction while ignoring the law for political reasons in comments given during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Thursday, April 11. Democrats have charged Trump with 91 allegations over four separate indictments to harm his chances at winning the 2024 election. In every case the charges were brought by political allies of Joe Biden.

Jarrett pointed out that the allegations against Trump in the hush money case occurred while he was president. The Supreme Court is still reviewing the question of whether or not he can be charged for crimes that allegedly occurred during his presidency as presidents typically enjoy criminal immunity for their behavior as president. The only time that changes is if a president is removed from office following an impeachment.

Jarrett said that there’s a “rush to convict Trump” before November. The Democrat strategy is such that they want a conviction and they don’t care if it gets overturned on appeal. Alan Dershowitz suggested the Democrats want to “get bad convictions” because it will harm his polling.

Jarrett said that paying for silence isn’t a crime and that’s why Bragg has to accuse Trump of falsely accounting for it. He added that that charge is a misdemeanor which is no longer valid due to the statute of limitations. Thus Bragg had to call it an illegal campaign contribution which it isn’t, and even if it was the Federal Election Commission would be the responsible enforcement authority. They looked at the case years ago, along with the Biden DOJ, and both of the organizations couldn’t rationalize charges.

Alvin Bragg indicted Trump on 34 counts in April 2023, and the charges are nearly unheard of, according to the New York Times. In the entire judicial history of New York City, only two other felony cases were brought against defendants for falsifying their business records without additional crimes.

Jarrett said the political nature of the criminal allegations make it clear that Biden and his allies are abusing the judicial system to interfere in the election.
