Chelsea Fans Go Wild with NINE Players Out with Injuries

(IntegrityPress.org) British footballers on Chelsea’s “The Blues” are suffering huge losses due to injuries on the field with nine of their first-team players medically unavailable for Saturday’s match against Burnley. The total tally for the number of injuries this season for the team is now up to 47.

Coach Mauricio Pochettino will have to adapt to the circumstances which have severely handicapped the team. Midfielder Romeo Lavia is out for the remainder of the season.

Lavia suffered a significant thigh injury in December during a match with Crystal Palace. The 19-year-old has played one match so far after joining Chelsea. He transferred from Southampton in exchange for a handsome $66.9 million and arrived with an ankle injury that prohibited him from playing for months. He was then injured in his first match for the team and won’t be playing for the rest of the season.

Christopher Nkunku has also been a disappointment to fans and club owners after suffering a knee and hip injury which Pochettino suggested permanently impacted his performance on the field.

Nkunku scored an astounding 23 goals across 36 individual matches last season playing for RB Leipzig. He suffered a knee injury last August and was out of action until December when the team played against the Wolves. In that match, he suffered a hip injury which kept him off the field for another month. After returning he was injured yet again during a loss to Liverpool.

Pochettino suggested it was “unfair to judge” Nkunku’s performance by comparing it with last season due to the amount of matches he’s missed due to injuries. Nkunku’s contract is worth an astounding $65.7 million.

Robert Sanchez was also added to the injury list ahead of Saturday’s match. The Spaniard hasn’t performed as well this season as in the past.

Additionally, Pochettino also suggested that Ben Chilwell might be absent from the match due to a “knock in his knee” in comments he gave on Thursday, March 28.
